What information do I need to provide?
To make sure your glasses are made correctly and fit comfortably, we’ll need a few key details from you. This page explains exactly what to prepare before placing an order on Cinily.co.uk
1) Your Prescription Details
If you’re ordering prescription lenses, please provide your prescription exactly as written by your optician. Most prescriptions include:
- SPH (Sphere) – how strong your distance/near correction is
- CYL (Cylinder) – astigmatism correction (if applicable)
- AXIS – astigmatism orientation (if applicable)
- ADD – near addition for reading/progressive lenses (if applicable)
- PD (Pupillary Distance) – distance between pupils (see next section)
Tip: If your prescription is written for contact lenses, you may need a glasses prescription instead. If you’re unsure, contact us before ordering.
2) Pupillary Distance (PD)
PD helps us position your prescription correctly in the lenses. You can provide:
- Single PD (e.g., 63mm), or
- Dual PD (e.g., R 31mm / L 32mm)
If you don’t have PD, you can measure it at home.

- Usage: Everyday / Office / Driving / Outdoor
- Coatings: Anti-reflective, UV protection, blue light (optional)
- Optional upgrades: Photochromic (transition),polarised
If you’re not sure which options to choose, you can start with a standard everyday setup and we’ll confirm if anything looks unusual for your prescription.

5) Special Notes (Optional but Helpful)
You can leave a note at checkout or email us if you have special requirements, for example:
- First time wearing progressive lenses
- Strong prescription
- Prefer lenses for night driving / screen use / outdoor use
- Need help confirming your prescription format
6) What If I’m Missing Something?
No problem. If any required information is missing (especially PD or prescription values), we’ll contact you before production starts.
Please note: Custom prescription lenses are made to order. To avoid delays, we recommend preparing your prescription and PD in advance.
